Back in 2001 I was supposed to be working in NYC on a project in lower Manhattan...

..

That job was put on hold because of a terrible, terrible thing.

I had 3 friends that worked in the World Trade Centers often, but the two that were there on that day made it out in time. Sadly so many others didn't, R.I.P.

The project was pushed to early in 2002. The devastation was still in the air and everyone was understandably still on edge. My work was actually within 3 blocks of the World Trade Centers and walking around the area was very dream like. I still could not believe it.

I had been to NYC enough times in my life to be very attached to the skyline, which will never be the same again. One of my strongest memories of being with my parents (who have since passed on) in NYC was standing at the base of the World Trade Centers, holding their hands so I could stay balanced as I looked up to see the top of them... *heavy sigh*
