Do you think the Holiday really slowed us down THAT much?

Not a chance. Yes we have all been busy, but if I do not have a camera in my hand, anything I do is less interesting. Below are a few different shoots, some from last weekend (Albany) and some from the last month. I hope you enjoy them and if so, please leave us some comments!

Merry Christmas! Although I wish I could have caught Santa in the act better..

.. but we can not get every picture we want!

Tonight I was given a little hint of when Santa would be flying over Utica. I did catch him, but I do wish I was more prepared. He is a little blurry, but taking pictures in the dark make anything moving blurry. I would not even have noticed him if it were not for Rudolph's nose helping guide his path through the very cloudy night tonight.

For all those kids out there take a peek at Santa flying by:

Have a safe and happy holiday season

I drive past ConMed almost every day and every time I say to myself, "Man I want to take a picture of it decorated." While I was on my way home from visiting with D, T and A at Cafe Domenicos last night, I decided I should take the picture sooner than later. If I were to keep procrastinating like I normally do, it would be February by the time I was ready to take the photo. Chances are the decorations would have already been taken down.

How about more Christmas in the City?

As we are out shooting pictures in the evening (during our play time), we often notice the lack of traffic around downtown Utica. Please keep in mind, there are Christmas decorations which are worth a look and some can only be noticed when it is dark. Who knows, you may even see some of us:)

Random post

For what ever reason it seems that we have not been shooting much, most likely because it is a very busy time of the year. I have been going through some of my older shots the last few nights and found some that I like and thought I should post them.

Here is a place that many of us go for lunch every Saturday. It is known as Pellettieri Joe's in east Utica. It is a very old world restaurant that serves the food their way. If you have never been there before and are planning on trying it, be forewarned, they will not serve you butter with your bread. That is fine because the Romano cheese they give you is way better then butter could ever be. There have been many great memories made at Pellettieri Joe's and I'm sure there are many more to come.

Recently D has gone a little crazy buying a lot of web sites. A few weeks ago while D and I were shooting at one of our favorite spots, I was breaking his chops about buying all these sites. I said to him "you should buy something really random and silly like www.firehydrant.com and we could make an open blog about all the cool fire hydrants people can find!" He laughed and said it is a funny idea, but a bit too silly. Later that day I found this fire hydrant and thought it had a lot of character so I took some shots of it. It has become one of my favorite newer shots.

The beginning of catching up!

The cold and holiday "going ons" have removed some of the free time that we would normally be out shooting. Last year, we shot more in the winter, than we did in the summer. We are not following that path as of yet, but once the new year arrives we will be out plenty.

For now, I am working on folders of images that have been waiting for me to open them. Now it is time to sort the images I want to work on, and archive everything that is done.

Here are a few new photographs for your enjoyment.

The Blueprint played tonight...

A bunch of great guys playing their own all original music.

Seriously check out their myspace page:

L and I went over to cover their set, which rocked. Watch for L's photos very soon.

Below is one from tonight and a bunch from the Capitol Theater in Rome, where they played a few weeks ago.

Enjoy, and do not forget to comment!

The photos of fireworks in Utica I promised

I spent some down time at school this week, catching up on these pictures. I was asked several times by people milling around, "wow those are some pretty cool shots where were those taken?" Of course I had to respond they were taken in Utica.

Its fun to hear peoples responses about our images. Usually its something like "wow that photo makes Utica look beautiful". That is one of our goals, to make Utica look as beautiful as it truly is.

I think we have been nailing it.
