Congratulations T and L!

L, T and I recently were part of the Kirkland Art Center's 37th Annual Photography Show. Out of 6 of our photos that were submitted (two from each of us), five of them made it. Out of over 140 submissions, only 45 were selected, which means ~11% of the pictures there were from our cameras:) I'm very proud of our work guys!

Thanks to L's Mom, her friend, T's friends (forgot names as usual), B, J, A and her Mom for supporting us today. Thanks to Greg Cost, one of my art teachers from High School, and Cheri Sassman the Utica Photography Club President for both of your kind words and ideas. Also Thanks to Guy Danella of Danella's Photographic for supporting "TheShadowman.com", from helping choose images, printing to giving us all the push to get into this competition.

Until next time friends,
D

A couple pictures from Syracuse.

I said I would post them, but meh,

This area needs to be shot when there is not 2 feet of soaking wet snow and raining.

L and I (as well as "J") went out to Syracuse tonight...

... to have a look around and plan some photography out that way. Honestly, we did not find much of interest. No old factories, actually, nothing looked "old". There are some beautiful old buildings at the college, but that was it. Also, I wanted to find a spot to get a nice view of downtown from afar, but came up short. If you know of one that is CLEAR, meaning NO trees and a safe place to shoot from, please email me @ d@theshadowman.com , thanks.

I'm beat, a few pics from tonight will be posted tomorrow.

D and I have been going out and shooting a lot lately, T came out with us last week too. Any who, I am working on getting a new batch of photos ready to load.

I appreciate every ones interest in the site. D recently did some work to my computer, making it run faster, which makes photo editing a lot less frustrating.

D that shot of the church below was taken around 9pm, when it looks like you took it at noon, haha. Very nice. I like that one in particular, there are great colors in it.

After getting 1-2 feet of snow locally, L, T and I went out to capture some new photos...

I spent a bit more than an hour plowing my driveway and it was time for some dinner. We stopped over to Carmellas (one of a few places open), then to Dunkin for a large hot coco and we were off to find some interesting locations in the snow.

L, T and I definitely grabbed some good shots, but we are off to bed until tomorrow after work (if there is work/school).

Night,
D

Yes, it was cold, windy and snowing.

8 Degrees to be exact. Umbrellas do work fantastic to keep flares and snow out of the lens:)

I am off to bed, but here is one from this evening:

Today the Weathermen spun their weather wheel...

The little clicker landed on SNOW, informing the local weather men that we are going to get 12 to 24 inches of snow. I really do not know if they interpreted it right, but we will all see what pans out over the next day or so. Anyway D and I took this great opportunity to go out and shoot. Along our journey I even met a "JAKE" ("You know him?" haha sorry most of you may not get that). Anyhow please check out my gallery, I uploaded a few shots and hopefully there is more to come over the next few days.

It was snowing pretty badly so D was using an umbrella to keep the snow off of him and the lens.

It has been a slow weekend for shooting.

Great shot L, I also love the coloring in the night shots in your gallery. They make for a very unique look.

D

I spent some time after work working on a few of my photos.

I added my watermark and uploaded some photographs earlier. Once you enter our gallery, you can comment and/or rate and/all of the photos. Please take a look around and check back often for our updates and uploads.

B, E and L all have their passwords as of tonight, so I would expect some uploads from them soon as well.

Night,

Our web galleries are up and running!!!

Everything is finalized except giving all of the The Shadowmen their user names and passwords.

Most of the photo blogs here will point to the correct folder in the gallery. So there will be a teaser photo to click (or a link) that will take you to the folder of that particular shoot/location.

Expect uploads to the gallery very soon:)

What a place.

This weekend L, B, T and I were a bit out of Utica for a few things I had to do. During our travels, we happen to come across (we like to explore) an old mansion that is a serious gem. We will call this place "BallAr View".

Here is a sneak peek:

Today more than made up for last night.

More on this as soon as I sort out the images.

D

Well, it did not turn out very good at all IMO.

It was windy, cold and I was having a bit of a photo block.
    Some positive notes:

  • I finished up a watermark I am happy with and it is perfect for this site. You will see soon...
  • I did get some good pictures the other night that I will be adding tomorrow.
  • Also, B has joined us leaving only T left to get together with me for his info.
  • This is still in its infancy, but when we get used to this new style of posting, on this new site, everything should fall into place.

The D50 is just chillin

yeah the D50 is collecting dust because of the lack of free time i have... i cant wait to get some time off and burn up some of the shutter life ... lol

Finally on here now

I would like to welcome everybody! It’s cool to have this up and going a little more now. I can not wait to start posting pictures unfortunately I tend to procrastinate some times. I'm often caught up in several different things at different times so I will really try and get in the habit of keeping everybody updated. Thanks for checking out our site here and we are all looking forward to your feedback.
